Call for Special Sessions
The Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (ICBHI 2026) and the 2nd IFMBE Latin American Conference on Digital Health (CLASD 2026) invites researchers, scholars, scientists, clinicians, engineers, and industry professionals to submit proposals for Special Sessions within the framework of this Joint Conference.
ICBHI & CLASD 2026 bring together the global biomedical and health informatics community and the regional digital health ecosystem to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific exchange, and innovation in intelligent, data-driven, and digitally enabled health systems. The Joint Conference aims to advance research, education, and professional practice in biomedical engineering, health informatics, digital health technologies, and their applications to improve healthcare quality, patient safety, and equitable access to care.
Special Sessions are intended to enrich the scientific program by highlighting emerging topics, cross-cutting themes, innovative experiences, and successful interventions relevant to biomedical and health informatics and the broader digital health ecosystem.
Instructions:
- A special session is a group of coordinated technical, educational and/or scientific conferences on topics of general interest on a common topic relevant to biomedical and health informatics, digital health systems, or intelligent health technologies. , Sessions may include research advances, professional experiences, policy perspectives, or applied innovation initiatives.
- Members of the biomedical engineering and health informatics communities, academic institutions, research groups, companies, hospitals, and other stakeholders in digital health are invited to submit proposals.
- Each Special Session must include at least three confirmed contributions on the same topic and will have a duration of 60 minutes.

- The evaluation and acceptance process includes three phases:
- TSubmission of a proposal summary (maximum two pages, free format). The document must include
- Title of the Special Session
- Rationale and objectives
- Proposed session program (speakers and presentation topics)
- Format and dynamics (e.g., presentations, round table, panel discussion)
- Short CVs of the proposed speakers.
- The ICBHI–CLASD 2026 Scientific and Organizing Committees will review all proposals after the submission deadline. Proponents will be notified of acceptance or rejection.
- Upon acceptance, the proposer must submit the final session synopsis, confirm the list of speakers, and ensure that all participants complete their conference registration.

- The scheduling (date and time) of accepted Special Sessions will be determined by the Joint Scientific and Organizing Committees.
- All Special Sessions will be held on-site only. Virtual or hybrid sessions will not be accepted. All session participants must be registered for the conference. The organization does not provide financial support, travel grants, or expense reimbursement for Special Session speakers.
- Accepted Special Sessions will not be included in the official conference proceedings. Certificates of participation will be issued to session organizers and speakers.
